Jennifer McBride

Owner and Event Producer

Calm and creative, Jennifer is the visionary behind McBride Events. She is a dream maker who loves being “part of the moment”, and who delights in finding new ways to exceed her clients' expectations. Jennifer took the best of her experience in the hospitality industry and combined it with her training as a marketer/planner to launch the company in 2001. Within the year, the Virginia Commonwealth University grad with a Master's in Business Administration in Marketing and former Martin Agency team member, had parlayed her skills into a top-notch wedding and events planning business that received enthusiastic acclaim. Jennifer helped create the “Event Design” category of the NBC 12 Dream Wedding and served as their exclusive planner for several years. She was a featured personality on Bridesight TV, and was honored with the accolade of Best Planner in Richmond by the readers of Richmond Magazine in both 2006 and 2009.

Dee Kirchmier

Senior Event Planner

A senior member of McBride Events, Dee is the realist who sees clearly how to get the job done and stay within budget. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Mass Communications with a degree focus on Public Relations, and she combines that knowledge with her natural aptitude for organizing and her love for events.

Her prowess with logistics makes her a strong team leader for McBride Events. After six years with the team Dee has mastered the event planning process and become our destination events expert. She has enjoyed managing wedding celebrations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as well as destination celebrations in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Georgia Coast, Charleston, South Carolina, Hawaii and the Mexican Riviera.

Amy Lewis

Event Planner

Amy knows the business of events and planning from the ground up. She started with McBride Events in 2006 as an intern and learned the ropes by immersing herself in every aspect of the business. She is certified with The Wedding Planning Institute, a division of Lovegevity, Inc. A self-proclaimed spreadsheet fanatic, Amy tracks each event from start to finish with beautiful results. She has learned that when it comes to confirming details, more is more, and she enjoys working closely with area vendors.

"Seeing the love between two people is magical to me," she explains and that's as true today as when she started four years ago. She encourages brides and grooms to “take the moment in” because it goes by so quickly. Amy enjoys being a part of the McBride team and looking after the details so that clients can make the most of their special moment.

Siobhan Walker

Event Planner

Armed with degrees in Psychology, Human Development and a Master's in Organizational Behavior, Siobhan Walker is adept at keeping people calm. She has honed her natural talent for planning to an exceptional level, and loves to be the "day-of" point person who keeps every detail of an event running smoothly. Siobhan is prepared with back-up plans should the need arise, and she prides herself on ensuring that clients enjoy a stress-free day. Her experience includes coordinating private parties, annual meetings, concerts and festivals in addition to weddings.

Siobhan likes to remind brides and grooms that their wedding day is the beginning of their life together. "This is the start, so don't worry, just enjoy it."

Cherie Smalley

Event Planner

The newest member of the team, Cherie brings years of experience in the beauty industry, and strong people skills to McBride Events. She enrolled in the University of Richmond Event Planning course, taught by Jennifer McBride, during the summer and had a "Wow" moment. She volunteered for the company and knew quickly that she had found her niche. Cherie focuses on the behind-the-scenes details and makes certain that every bow, flower and candle is in place.

Having planned her own wedding in 2000, Cherie marvels at the difference it makes to have a professional planner. "Everything comes together and flows," she says. "McBride Events brides aren't stressed, they get to enjoy their day."
